About me

Hi! My name is Sara Padrell Sánchez and I am a Spanish girl doing my PhD studies in Stockholm. I am passionate about a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, and my desire to share this passion with everyone is what has driven me to start Wholesome Insights.

Wholesome:

  1. Conducive to or suggestive of good health and physical well-being
  2. Conducive to or characterized by moral well-being

I have always tried to take care of myself but when I moved to Stockholm in 20I4 I started to be more aware of how big of an impact a healthy diet and an active lifestyle can have on our well-being and happiness. After some years seeing how these changes have improved my life at all levels I thought that I had to share it with everyone who would like to become a happier version of themselves.

I love to travel, to discover hidden cozy places where to dive into a good book with a cup of tea, to meet new cultures, to eat and try new dishes with original ingredients. It is not hard to find me in the kitchen developing new recipes or modifying “old-grandma” ones making them healthier but keeping all their tastiness.

My passion for nourishing food combined with the great respect I have for my body and our mother earth has engaged me to do some research and gradually change my diet towards a whole-food plant-based diet, free from processed food and refined ingredients. Here I will share with you lots of easy-peasy recipes that will indulge all your senses, from “let me see what I have in the fridge” dinners to “Oh-My-Gosh” chocolate brownies, always trying to use seasonal and local products.

In my experience, to achieve physical and mental health, nourishing your body is as important as exercising it. Moving my body every day in one way or another has a huge impact on my mood. Running pumps those little endorphins through my veins, which always get me dancing at the end, even after 15 km. Yoga and Pilates help me connect body and mind, which allows me to focus and enjoy the present. Even twenty minutes walk in the park at the end of the day prepares me for a peaceful sleep. Moving my body always makes me feel great, but it is the combo with meditation what really clears my buzzy mind and brings me the calmness so necessary in nowadays’ spinning world. I know sometimes is hard to squeeze any kind of exercise into our busy lives and that’s why I want to share my best tips to stay motivated, my favorite fitness routines, my practice in yoga and much more…

Building a healthy lifestyle is a continuous journey in which I embarked and would love to share with you, because nothing would bring me more joy than helping you to become a happier person with any of my Wholesome Insights.
